Good eye makeup remover ?

i haven't got the chance to go out and buy actual eye make up remover. what would be a good way to remove my eye make up, such as hip cream liner or lash blast mascara, with the products i have in my house ?Good eye makeup remover ?

I like Neutrogena. It comes in a clear blue bottle and it looks like oil and water but when you shake it, it combines to a bubbly remover. It takes off my eyeliner, waterproof mascara, and all. Plus, you can get it at a Wal-Mart or drugstore and dont have to listen to one of those Mary Kay ladies for two hours and then pay $40 for it! I think it's only about $6.

The absolute best makeup remover that I have tried is the Cleansing Oil by Shu Uemura. It takes everything off in one application. You lightly massage it onto your skin (it works very well around the eyes, too - and I have sensitive eyes) and once your makeup is loosened and melts away, splash on some lukewarm water, it emulsifies and turns into a low-lather foam and washes off completely, leaving your skin clean, soft and smooth. It's amazing!!! It's expensive but worth it.

Believe it or not, Maybelline, the one with the blue cap works well even of waterproof mascara and it doesn't get all oily in your eyes because it contains no oil and it is inexpensive.

I really think Mary Kay has the best eye makeup remover. It gets off even stage makeup, and it never bothers my eyes. You don't have to use a whole lot, and it comes in a fairly good sized container so it lasts a while.

I paint my face up like a clown every night, and all I use, except when I go out, is #1 water, #2 plain lotion. That's all. It takes every thing off, as long as the mascara isn't waterproof.

Actually, I use baby oil to remove my eye makeup. It works just as well as any special makeup remover will, comes in a huge bottle, is pretty inexpensive and lasts forever since it doesn't take much to get the job done. Anyone who tells you otherwise is extremely misinformed and if they work for a cosmetics company, they're trying to sell you something.

Flush it with coolish water. Eye makeup remover is made to remove makeup around your eyes, obviously. So it's not a pressing matter at all. Don't touch it or do anything to irritate it further.

However the only way to know what will work best for you is to try them. If you have sensitive eyes, are worried about sensitive skin, etc. you need to take all of these things into consideration before deciding what will work best for you.

This isn't one of the three choices, but I swear by it as an eye makeup remover: Johnson's Baby Wash. Trust me, it will remove even waterproof eye makeup and will not burn your eyes. It's very gentle and inexpensive, too!

I love clinique products most of them if not all are oil free. Clinique makes a good eye makeup remover. Go to the clinique counter in Macys and ask if they happen to have a sample or ask them to give you a make over so you can see how the product works. Good luck!

To make this make up remover all you need is a jar and a lid that fits the jar. You will also need some powdered milk and warm water.

Take the jar and put a third of a cup of warm water in the jar. Then put three tablespoons of powdered milk into the jar. Put the lid on the jar and shake up the contents in the jar. If the ingredients are in the right measurement you should have a liquid that is the consistency of heavy cream. If the mixture is runny put in some more powered milk and shake the jar again. If the mixture is to thick then add a little more warm water and shake the jar.

When you have the makeup remover at the right consistency you are ready to use it for removing your makeup.

To use this makeup remover take a wash cloth and wet it with some warm water. Just wet the cloth, don't soak the cloth. Put some of the makeup remover on the cloth and gently wipe it on your face until the makeup is removed. ..........I need to make a ';homemade'; eye-makeup remover?
You will need:

- Grape seed oil or a mixture of it and castor oil in a 2:1 ratio

- (Optional) Contents of one capsule of vitamin E to your blend for extra moisturizing power

- Cotton balls (Don't apply with your fingers)

Directions:

To use your eye makeup remover, dip a new cotton ball into the mixture and gently rub it over your eyes and lashes. Try your best not to get any oil in the eyes. At best, it will give you blurry vision for a few minutes, but at worst it can cause eye irritation. After allowing the oil to set for a few seconds, use another cotton ball dampened with pure water to clear away the oil and makeup. Repeat until no traces are left on your eyes.

Get a soft microfiber cloth like Jane Iredale Magic Mitt ($15) or Aquis mitt (under $6) or Aquis diva cloth (under $4) and you can just use the cloth and warm water (or gentle cleanser, if desired) for removing eyeshadow/eyeliner and use either a gentle cleanser or as another gal suggested, olive oil (works like a charm) for removing mascara/liquid liner. The microfiber cloth is amazing %26amp; it removes a lot more than regular cloths or makeup remover wipes.

You can even make your own ';gentle cleanser'; by mixing approx. 1/4 cup medium - strong brewed green tea, 1 TBS honey and 1 TBS olive oil together (or desired mix)...keep in refrigerator, when not in use. just use baby oil. it takes off eye make up really well. and be sure to rinse it and wash your face afterwards so you can remove any excess oil. its not strong or harsh for your face, but duh, keep your eyes closed cuz it wont be good if you get the baby oil in there :)
i agree, baby oil is the way to go, its the only thing ive found that takes off my waterproof mascara, plus its really good for your skin and lashes, sometimes i put a little on my lashes before mascara if i haven't worn any in a few days it softens up my lashes and mascara glides on easier and with less clumps
jut use some moituriser on a cotton wool pad - it works, its gentle and obviously it moisturises!
Vaseline (or any petroleum jelly) and baby oil are good options. I would just get some from the dollar store.

Any vegetable oil will remove makeup--sunflower, corn, olive, etc. Take a cotton ball wet it in the chosen oil. Hold it lightly over the closed eye for a 10-20 seconds to loosen and then wipe gently. Wash face with warm water and mild soap or facial cleanser.

If face soap and water isn't getting it off for you do buy a make up remover. Maybelline has a cheap one.

It can if it's a bad brand. It might be clogging your pores or not completely removing the makeup. Maybe try a different brand or use water and soap every other day rather than the remover. The makeup will stay around your eye, and make it harder to do your makeup again the next morning because eyeliner/mascara/eyeshadow would be smudged all around your eye from the previous day. Also, it will cause more pimples. :[

If you're not a fan of make up remover, get a cleanser that washes the face and removes make up as well. Neutrogena has some nice ones.

Olay actually recently came out with a cream based eye makeup remover that works fantastic. It removes all traces of eye makeup without leaving an oily residue.

As for the waterproof eyeliner and mascara I would suggest MAC's Liquid Last Eyeliner or Smashbox's Jet Set Cream Eyeliner (great for the lower lash line). As for mascara I really like Cargo's Better Than Waterproof mascara.Whats the best Eye Makeup Remover?
To be honest, the best removers for waterproof mascaras would be an oil cleanser... However if you don't want something purely oil then I would suggest half and half products like Lancome Bi-Facil or for a less costly alternative something like the Neutrogena eye makeup remover (in the blue bottle). These are usually half remover + half oil-based remover and requires shaking the bottle before usage. Still a tad oily but works.

Substitutes for eye makeup remover?

I am currently without eye makeup remover...and at a loss to get my mascara off. First, I tried just using my cleanser. But, since it was for oily skin, it left my eyes feeling extremely dry. Then, I actually tried using shampoo (better for eyelashes, right?)...but it made my eyes burn.

If you can get some formual one of mary kay's it will take it off. No eye make up remover , you've got no mineral oil, *(which you don't need to get into a habit of anyway) %26amp; you could use vasoline in an emergency - ONLY in an emergency. Other wise never use petroleum products on your face..

I recommend you getting off bar soap - it's very drying %26amp; clogs your pores..
use any type of lotion. not only will it get ALL makeup off your face and eyes but it will also moisturize your face.

another household item you can use would be vaseline but it makes your face all shiny so i dont really recommend it that much. and there is always the good old soap and water :]
NO NO Don't do baby oil!!!!. If you have any baby wipes, those will work. When I run out of make-up remover wipes, baby wipes work like a charm. They are soft on the face, don't burn the eyes, and they get the make-up off.
Simple, but it works. I just use a washcloth and put it under warm water and scrub. If it doesn't come off with just water, then add a bit of soap. Just make sure to keep your eyes closed when using soap.

I love Clinique products, and I use Take the Day Off Makeup Remover, but I use the balm version (http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc鈥?/a> not the oil/water one you linked to. I have tried both, and I think the balm works better.

I would rate the balm a 10, and the liquid a 9.
I wouldn't recommend a brand....just good old baby oil, then wash with soap and water.....
I use Mary Kay. It looks similar the one for clinque and it works great. But baby oil works fine too, just wash the oil off afterwards.

Use oil to remove eye makeup

Baby oil and olive oil both have the ability to remove eye makeup. Soak a cotton ball with the oil and wipe over the area to take off the makeup. You may want to use a dry cotton ball afterward to soak up any excess oil.

I'm not familiar with Clinique's products. However, as long as you use an eye makeup remover that does not contain mineral oil, you're OK. Mineral oil is too large to penetrate the pores of our skin, so it sits on the top layer like saran. If your eye makeup remover has mineral oil, it's going to look and feel oily. Plus, if you want to redo your eye makeup, this will cause it to smudge or run. Get a good water based product that will penetrate the dermis for maximum benefit.
Actually.... my only Lancome item is there eye make up remover, in the blue bottle and it works sooooooo good and does not burn. And I have recently found out that vitamin e oil takes off your eye make up really well, does not burn, and it is good for your skin !

Estee Lauder has the best eye makeup remover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The second best is Lancome. The third is Mary Kay than Avon . Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is the best out there.

If you can't afford Estee Lauder another good makeup remover is Nivea Gentle Eye Makeup Remover you can find it at Walmart. Also an alternative if you can't afford other makeup removers baby oil works really well to get rid of eye makeup.

yes, you may have oily skin, but olive oil is great! It is natural and olive oil has so many benefits for the skin and health in general. After you clean it off, use gentle facial soap to remove it. Always be careful about how you wipe around the eye area- it is a very delicate area with thin shin.

Anyway, if you have jhonson's baby shampoo you can use a little of that to wash it off and then apply a face moisturizer around your eyes because that soap dries the skin out a bit.

Otherwise, vaseline or any other kind of face cream works too, just be careful not to get it in your eyes. o_O

Cetaphil: I have eczema, and my eyelids are horribly disgusting if something that I am allergic to touch them. Cetaphil is a great product, you can use it as cleanser for face, and even body wash, and you don't need to wash off if you don't want to. I would recommand you the Gentle cleanser from le Rosay Posay, but its more expensive than Cetaphil. I've never tried vasaline, and now thinking I ought to with all these comments. I put Aquafore on my eyelids several times a day to keep them moisturized , but it does not seem to clean so well. Aquafore is something very similar to vasaline but with a lighter consistency.

Physicians formula Vital Lash Eye makeup remover is what I use when certain Waterproof liner and mascara wouldn't come off. It still stings, but by far better than Neutrogena's, and cleans a lot better than Cetaphil on the stubborn liners, I just use Q-tip not wanting to demage my eyelids. I really don't wear make up often, only when there is an occasion since I have bad skin.

so i tried it and it works reallly good (preferably on non waterproof)

all you do is dip you finger in the vasaline and get some then just smear it on you eye (your eye will get really blakc from allt eh smearing) then just tap a tissue and wipe it off.it shoudl come off the first time you apply it. other wise you can take all the extra off and just do the thing again. veryyyyy easy.

I used to have the same problem until I bought makeup remover wipes from Neutrogena. It comes in a light blue box usually sold by the Neutrogena skin/acne products. It doesn't make your face oily and is very safe! Haha, I used it just a few minutes ago! It also makes your face smell fresh and clean =)

I like DHC's Deep cleansing oil. It's actually make-up remover for the whole face, including eye make-up. The oil is olive oil based, but the formula itself rinses clean way with water and leaves no oily residue at all!

I have combination skin, and this Deep Cleaning Oil doesn't leave my oily parts greasy, yet it doesn't leave my dry patches tight. And it gets ALL the make-up off!

This company does have an equally excellent Eye Make-up remover too. But They also encourage you to use the Deep Cleansing Oil as an alternative. That's what I do.

from experience, only face moisturizing soaps work best and then when you apply the moisturizer before make up, just get a tissue and wipe more under the eyes and over eyes to take the extra make up off, if there is any left and also the moisturizer is really good for your skin. You can add more moisturizer from where u took it off to even your skin.

if you dont have makeup remover, you can always use baby oil which you put some on a cottonball and apply to your eye, and it just smudges right off..lol..dont worry i get stuff in my eye all the time, and plus baby oil i think is cheaper.

I use olive oil....dab some on a cotton wool ball and off ot comes. Then just rinse your face with hot water and a face cloth. Dead cheap and natural, no nasty chemicals and leaves skin soft and moisturized. Try it for a few days and see how it goes.
there are two good eye make up removers that are under 拢10 and are perfect for those with sensitive eyes, the first is simple eye make up remover which cost 拢3.99. The other eye make up remover is Johnson's eye make up remover pads and that as well is 拢3.99.

Loreal eye make up remover. I think its about 5 dollars at any store. I wear eye make up everyday and this is what I used until I switched to lancome. I actually like Loreal better because it is cheaper, very easy on the skin (i have sensitive skin) and you can take it everywhere since it is so small. heres a pic, try it out.

I use alot of dark make up and i find the best things to use are baby oil and those cheap, shop own moisturisers (nt very cheap brands, like blue label ones etc next one up) Don't always think you got to use expensive things as cheaper ones are the way fwd :)
Neutrogena oil free eyemake remover is the best one I found. It's very gentle and takes waterproof mascara right off. It costs about $9.
Body Shop Cammomile eye make up remover 拢6 and it's excellent.
simple eye makeup is alright, its cheap and gentle, but the trick is if you wanna remove mascara get a cotton back and soak it in normal water and just put it over your eyelashes and hold it there for like 20 secs, and then it will just slide off with makeup remover!
When removing makeup, take a Q-tip which has been dipped in a non-oily remover and run it over the eyelashes to take off any remaining mascara.

Hi I have been using babyface from Lush, its a hard make up remover and you just wipe over it with warm water and cotton wool and wipe over the eyes. I love it its in the shape of a face, you can use it to remove all you make up and it leaves the skin soft too. Hi. I have hard contacts so anything and I mean anything that goes in my eye makes my eyes water non-stop! Well, I asked some people what they recommend and they say Physicians Formula is best for contact wearers. It's specially made for contact wearers and people with allergies in mind. Best for sensitive eyes, too.They have great mineral eye products like eye shadows, eyeliners, and mascaras. You can also purchase them at nearby drugstores or Walmarts.

I avoid those cheapy brands of eye shadows that are sold in clothes stores like NYX, etc. I noticed that when I put some of their eye shadows, during the day they would come off and go in my eye. Garnier is really good for removing makeup.

Make sure you don't get any eye makeup remover that has oil in it. It needs to be gentle wash.

Mineral eye products are gentle, but some of them are expensive.
Okay I use camomile gentle eye make-up remover from The Body Shop, it really works AMAZING! there is the liquid kind (which I use) or gel that is for waterproof mascara. I believe it is 12 or 13 dollars, but it really is worth all the money. It has never hurt my contacts, or eyes! try it, you will love it!

also, they will return it if it doesn't work good enough on you!!!

Buy a bottle of Johnson's Baby Shampoo. It is far less expensive than eye makeup remover, it will last longer, and it is very gentle. Baby Shampoo won't hurt your eyes and it shouldn't make any excess eyelashes fall out.
I've always used vaseline/petroleum jelly. It's not harmful on your eyelashes and takes off any liquid makeup on the eyes. Including the waterproof. And not only that, extremely affordable. :)
Try Pond's cream or at least the generic version. It will take all the mascara off and leave your surrounding eye tissue smooth. Don't be fooled by the expensive ';eye make-up removers';.
Andrea Eye Q is really gentle and effective. Just don't get it with ';moisturizers';--it's really oily and hurts your eyes!
Try using a cold cream or baby oil. Anything oil based will help you remove eye makeup easily.

at the body shop they make wips which work really well (idk how much it costs tho)

also ponds (the one that makes cold cream) makes a make-up remover which feels weird on your face but it works really well and only costs 4-5 dollars

i am a dancer and wear lots of heavy liquid eye liner and this has worked for me altho i have never tried mac liquid eyeliner (altho i've tried just about everything else)

HI, there, i think the best Eye makeup remover i have found it. from Avon, its call Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion, and it works on waterproof mascara as well, and is just about $4.00 a bottle.Best eye makeup remover for waterproof mascara?
Here are the best waterproof makeup removers, from my own experimentation.

1) oil-based makeup remover (Lancome): oil seems to break down the thick wax in waterproof makeups. Works wonder.

2) vaseline (Vaseline): surprisingly, vaseline works better than water-based makeup removers. But then it gets a bit greasy over your eyes, no? And you may provoke a stye, with contacts and all.

3) water-based makeup remover (La Roche-Posay): for these you would need a bit of rubbing.

These don't work as well, but you could try...

4) face lotion (Avene, La Roche-Posay), body lotion (Lubriderm, Eucerin, Curel): much rubbing to your gentle lids.

Do NOT use these. They don't work. You'd have to scratch your skin and even then the makeup won't come off.

5) *regular* face wash, body wash, other soap.

Makeup-off face washes out there work well on regular makeup. But for the lids and lashes, especially with waterproof ones, I would be picky.Best eye makeup remover for waterproof mascara?

so when i use it i don't have to worry about it getting in my eye or having to wash it off and get my clothes wet or anything.

i use napkins because that works fine with this remover. it appears to be a liquid and comes out to be a very thin oil that clings to the napkin, so you can re-wipe again and again so that it takes off the makeup without having to be too harsh on your eyes or reapply the product so much (you get the most of this product! no wasting!), and it's not wet so it doesn't bleed holes through the napkin!

I strongly recommend it. I actually am PASSIONATE about it! LOL!

I'm using this face make up remover that is uber good, well, i think it's the best around...

It removes any trace of make up... it actually comes in the form of oil, so you'll massage the oil onto your face in circular motion it'll slowly lift the make up, then gradually add some water as you massage more, then it'll turn into some sort of milk... When you slowly add enough water, it'll turn completely white, then you can just rinse it off... and it acts as both cleanser and moisturizer as well. But for people with acne problem is recommend to do double cleansing, which is to wash your face again with your cleanser... It is a little expensive, but it's also HUGE!! So it'll be forever before it actually finishes...!And it's definitely worth the price, cause it's super clean and you won't have to rub vigorously on your eyes just to remove waterproof make up...

* There is different oil for different skin, so read thorough them...I'm using the green oil, it's for aging skin although I'm only 23(Refer to the link)
